CNC Pipe Cutting for Pipe Spool & Mechanical Contractors
Every hour a mechanical contractor spends beveling pipe ends with a grinder is an hour that is not building spools. The PD-10 cuts the end prep, the saddles and the branch openings straight from the geometry so your spool shop feeds the field instead of chasing it.
The Problem
The real cost of hand-prepped pipe
- End bevels ground by hand on every joint, with the land and angle varying by whoever is holding the grinder.
- Saddle and branch cuts marked with a wraparound, torched, then filed until the fitting seats.
- Hole cuts for branch connections that end up oversized and get bridged with weld metal.
- Work pushed to the field because the shop cannot prep fast enough — and field hours cost multiples of shop hours.
- Weld inspection rejects traced back to inconsistent prep rather than the welder.
The Fix
How the PD-10 solves it
Consistent end prep on every joint
Automated beveling puts the same angle on every end, which is exactly what a repeatable weld procedure and a clean inspection record depend on.
Saddles and branch openings from the iso
Branch intersections at any angle are cut to profile, so the fitting seats without the wraparound-and-file routine.
Spool marking built into the cut
Engrave spool numbers and joint IDs on the pipe so the pieces stay identified from the cutting bay to the field crate.
Shop capacity instead of field labor
When prep is fast and repeatable, more of the package gets built in a controlled shop environment at shop rates.
Material
Material you actually run
- Round carbon steel pipe up to 10" outside dimension
- Schedule 40 and heavier wall process pipe
- Square and rectangular tube for pipe supports and racks
- Angle and channel for hangers, shoes and support steel
- Pipe and support material up to 800 lbs

What This Actually Saves You
Mechanical contractors usually see the biggest win when field hours convert to shop hours. We will not put a number on your specific package, but we will cut your bevel spec and a representative saddle on a demo so you can price the difference against your own labor rate.
