PD-10 CNC plasma torch cutting steel tube for production fabrication work.

Application

CNC Tube Cutting for Agricultural & Heavy Equipment Manufacturing

Implement frames, hitches, booms and guarding are all tube weldments with a hundred small cuts in them. When those cuts are made by hand, your build times swing with whoever is on the saw. The PD-10 makes the tube prep for a production weldment the same every single time.

The Problem

What slows down an implement build

  • Notches and gussets laid out by hand on frame tube, then fitted by trial and error in the weld fixture.
  • Hole patterns for pins, bushings and hardware drilled in a separate setup after cutting.
  • Frames that come out of the fixture with tolerance stack-up because every cut carried a little error.
  • Production runs that cannot scale because tube prep depends on one experienced hand.
  • Prototype changes that mean re-teaching the whole cut list instead of editing a file.

The Fix

How the PD-10 solves it

Fixture-ready parts

Notches, copes and end profiles come off the machine to the model, so a frame drops into the weld fixture and closes without persuasion.

Hole patterns cut with the profile

Pin holes, bushing bores and hardware patterns are part of the same program, which removes a whole secondary operation from your routing.

Bevels for structural welds

Heavy weldments need real weld prep. Automated beveling delivers it on the cut instead of at a grinding station.

Prototype to production without retooling

Change the program, cut the revision, run the batch. No new jigs, no new templates, no re-teaching the shop.

Material

Material you actually run

  • Square and rectangular tube up to 10" x 10" for frames, hitches and booms
  • Round tube and pipe for axles, rollers, guarding and cross members
  • Angle and channel for mounts, brackets and skid framing
  • Flat material up to 10" wide for plate gussets and tabs
  • Heavy sections up to 800 lbs

Throughput & Labor

What This Actually Saves You

The payoff in ag and heavy equipment is consistency: the tenth frame builds as fast as the first, and a new hire can feed the machine. Bring a frame drawing to a demo and we will cut real parts from it rather than talk in percentages.
